Finding Comfort in Knitting

I don’t know about you but when this whole pandemic began I got (and still am) a little anxious. So I threw myself into things I could control: gardening, baking, and of course knitting.

I have always known the basics of knitting, I remember my grandmother teaching me my first knit stitch, but my interest in it fluctuated and I never really got past garter stitch scarves. Until I got pregnant with our second child, A.

A was a not-quite-oops and so close to G that I already had everything I needed so in my maternal need to nest and as a way to calm my anxiety (two under 2?!?) I sought for something to do and decided on a knitted sweater, I mean, how hard could it be?

I found the most adorable baby cardigan kimono from Madam Ulma, seamless and knit in the round, and decided to go for it. I am very lucky it was an easy pattern and everything looks adorable on a baby.

Not everything I have tried has worked out that well but the fact remains that knitting is definitely the best stress reliever I know and as an added bonus- you usually get something beautiful out of it!
